The First Week of Little Research

I did a fairly marginal amount of research this week. To start with I listened to a podcast of Radio Lab about the mechanics of sleep. Apparently sleep is used to make all the jumbled thoughts and actions of the day coincide in harmony. Basically, sleep is just a maid for your brain; sweeping away excess information. Now, this got me thinking about how this could do with my "1 AM Epiphanies". Perhaps, because I am asleep, my brain is more organized a certain time. Thus profound thinking has less clutter to deal with, such as what I had for lunch the previous day. I also heard about a book by Wayne Dwyer (I believe thats his name) that reports that his best thoughts occur at 3 AM. I guess I'll have to look into that book to learn more, but its nice to know about a similar occurence. As well, I talked to Paula who informed me that her best artwork was created very early in the morning (12 AM and up), so I guess creative thinking is influenced as well.

Hopefully I'll research more this week, and I'll try and start that book by Mr. Dwyer. Hopefully I have some profound thoughts in the next week, as listening simply to musings about research can get really boring.
